About this article
A thin aluminium composite layer is laminated between the hide panels of the card bank. It acts as a partial Faraday shield: it attenuates the 13.56 MHz field that contactless bank cards and most access cards use, which is what makes a reader fail to power the card up. Cards left outside the shielded bank — in the note bays, for instance — are not protected at all, and the shield does nothing against 125 kHz low-frequency cards or against anyone who simply takes the wallet.
- 8 card slots inside the shielded bank
- Aluminium composite interlayer, laminated not glued in
- Attenuation measured at 13.56 MHz (ISO/IEC 14443)

Care
Wipe with a dry cloth. Apply a thin coat of leather balm every three to six months, or when the surface feels dry. Let it rest an hour, then buff. Vegetable-tanned leather darkens with light and handling — that change is the point.
Full care and patina guideLeather, materials and compliance
Natural characteristics. Grain variation, visible pores, healed scars, growth lines and colour differences between pieces are properties of a natural hide, not faults, and are not grounds for complaint. The leather will darken and gain a patina with light and handling.
Chemicals. Our tanneries confirm compliance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) Annex XVII, including the chromium VI limit of 3 mg/kg for leather articles in contact with the skin and the restrictions on azo dyes that release listed aromatic amines. Supplier declarations are held on file and available on request.
Animal origin. Bovine hide only, a by-product of the food industry. We do not sell leather from CITES listed or otherwise protected species — no python, no crocodile, no lizard — and we do not sell fur.
Allergy note. Tanning agents, dyes and finishes can cause a contact allergy in a small number of people. We cannot rule that out for any leather article. Stop wearing the item and seek advice if a reaction occurs.
