About this article

A single-ply belt does not delaminate, because there is nothing bonded together to come apart. 3.6 mm of vegetable-tanned full-grain, seven holes at 25 mm centres, and a solid brass roller buckle held on two Chicago screws rather than stitched. Undo the screws, cut the tail to length with a sharp knife, punch a hole if you need one, screw it back. Measuring guide is included in the box and on the site.

  • 3.6 mm single-ply — no bonded layers
  • Screw-fixed buckle, buckle swaps in a minute
  • Trim-to-fit tail, 7 holes at 25 mm centres

Read this before you order

  • Measure an existing belt from the buckle fold to the hole you use, not your trouser size. The measuring guide is linked from every belt page.
  • Trimming the strap is deliberate and does not affect your right of withdrawal, but a strap you have cut cannot be resold as new — see the withdrawal terms for how we handle value loss.

Care

Wipe the strap dry after wet weather and let it dry away from radiators. Balm the flesh side twice a year so the strap stays supple where it folds through the buckle.

Leather, materials and compliance

Natural characteristics. Grain variation, visible pores, healed scars, growth lines and colour differences between pieces are properties of a natural hide, not faults, and are not grounds for complaint. The leather will darken and gain a patina with light and handling.

Chemicals. Our tanneries confirm compliance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) Annex XVII, including the chromium VI limit of 3 mg/kg for leather articles in contact with the skin and the restrictions on azo dyes that release listed aromatic amines. Supplier declarations are held on file and available on request.

Animal origin. Bovine hide only, a by-product of the food industry. We do not sell leather from CITES listed or otherwise protected species — no python, no crocodile, no lizard — and we do not sell fur.

Allergy note. Tanning agents, dyes and finishes can cause a contact allergy in a small number of people. We cannot rule that out for any leather article. Stop wearing the item and seek advice if a reaction occurs.

Getting the length right

Do not order by trouser size. Measure an existing belt you like from the fold at the buckle to the hole you actually use, and order that figure. Our straps ship long and are trimmed at home.
