About this article
The case for a zip wallet is simple: coins, receipts and cards stop escaping into the bottom of a bag. The cost is bulk, and at 22 mm closed this is the thickest wallet in the range — we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. The zip is solid brass on a woven tape, with a leather pull that ages alongside the body.

Care
Wipe with a dry cloth. A light balm twice a year is enough. Chrome-tanned leather keeps its colour far longer than vegetable-tanned and needs less feeding.
Full care and patina guideLeather, materials and compliance
Natural characteristics. Grain variation, visible pores, healed scars, growth lines and colour differences between pieces are properties of a natural hide, not faults, and are not grounds for complaint. The leather will darken and gain a patina with light and handling.
Chemicals. Our tanneries confirm compliance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) Annex XVII, including the chromium VI limit of 3 mg/kg for leather articles in contact with the skin and the restrictions on azo dyes that release listed aromatic amines. Supplier declarations are held on file and available on request.
Animal origin. Bovine hide only, a by-product of the food industry. We do not sell leather from CITES listed or otherwise protected species — no python, no crocodile, no lizard — and we do not sell fur.
Allergy note. Tanning agents, dyes and finishes can cause a contact allergy in a small number of people. We cannot rule that out for any leather article. Stop wearing the item and seek advice if a reaction occurs.
